Ipoh for Christmas.

The day we arrived at Ipoh is the day of the eve of Christmas. Nobody misses Christmas eve mass, so we all head to St. Michael at Ipoh. As we arrived, there were performers wearing angel's costume dancing around elegantly.

After attending mass, we head for Ipoh Tong Sui Kai, where they have a lot of stalls selling varieties of dessert. We had fruit bowl. But it was so huge. We didn't know it was very huge. Nevertheless, cravings satisfied!

On Christmas morning, mom suggested that we all have Dim Sum for breakfast. And Ipoh have good Hong Kong Dim Sum. So, happily, we went to Ming Court. And our happy mood immediately vanished. There were many people waiting for seats.

Customers are sitting down eating, while the next customer are standing at close proximity. They are literally BESIDE you because the restaurant is really small, even when the aunties who tried to give us food are having difficulty walking, but of course, they're used to it. The place was so crowded, and every table was booked by at least one or two people waiting in line. You're fast, you get it, if you're not, then game-over.

See how crowded this is?

Here's our Dim Sum breakfast.

After that, we went to riverfront, if i'm not mistaken haha.

Poser number 1.

You know what, i'm feeling so lazy to type haha

This Malay uncle we met at the children's playground (who is selling bubble liquid for a living) created his own netting that can blow out big and huge amount of bubble just holding apart two sticks and gostan all the way.

Good try big bro!

And i'm the one chasing the bubbles.

We went to Nam Heong to have our tea break.

Dry curry mee.

And trust me, egg tarts here are the BEST! Fresh from the oven.

Cameron Highlands some we-time together.

Last semester was the only semester which i didn't get to go home, AT ALL. It was so hectic, and i was constantly stuffed with things to do over and over again i couldn't find the time to go home without sacrificing assignments or society matters. So mom said we needed a getaway together as a family, on a road trip and then to Cameron and Ipoh. Yeah, family getaways much needed, thanks.

When i heard that we're going to Cameron, i was uber excited. No kidding, i love mountains and cold places with many plants and natural things. Mom booked a hotel, which was conveniently located just beside a market selling strawberries, sweet corns, vegetables and more vegetables. I figured strawberries at Cameron would at least be whole lot cheaper compared to Tesco or Giant, but nope, still really expensive if you ask me.

We checked in our hotel as we arrived, me and my brother can't wait to explore the place. We talked about the sweet corn, the fresh cucumbers (well, my brother is fond of the cucumbers because he read something about cucumber fighting off cancer and whatnots) and the cute cactuses.

There was a heavy traffic going on outside as we gaze out our hotel window. Not quite nature-like as one would expect. But what more could we ask for. Guess everyone's holiday destination had been decided to be at Cameron's.

So yeah, we grabbed our jackets, it's almost evening and we can feel the weather's turning cold, and went downstairs to the nearest market (which was just beside our hotel). KEA hotel (if not mistaken).
Fresh produce.
We also walked in to a place which seems like a garden. But really, it's just a continuation of the market selling cactuses, flowers, orchids, morning glory, and more fruits and vegetables.

And then, by the end of the path, is a restaurant, overlooking a scenery of senget buildings that seemed sturdy on the unsturdy hills and tea plantations, and more cool breeze. I enjoyed it a lot.

I, particularly liked this plant. I remembered the large version of it, mom told me it eats flies. I wonder if the small one eats flies too. But don't you think it's interesting?
One thing about Cameron, it's beautiful to see, to touch, to smell. But once you buy it, and bring it to somewhere not as cold and as awesome as Cameron, all the plant just dies or doesn't bloom flowers anymore. You are only allowed to enjoy these beautiful creatures and plants at Cameron and Cameron itself.

Even though i've fallen in love many many times with all these cute cactuses, i can't bring myself to buy it and leave them to die (that's what i do). They are so tiny! So cute! I KENOT!

Yeap, we bought the jagungs and i munch on it as i continue to gaze out the window of the hotel apartment at the slow improving traffic. The sun was setting. The day coming to an end.

At one moment, I just looked at mom, and she was wrapped in her scarf and her newly bought glasses, and i thought "Mom looked really young at this moment."
And that explains the picture.
We didn't do much that night, we only hung around, watched different TV channels, i talked to friends on my phone (WiFi wins) and just feeling cold all over. We didn't even had any fans on! It was super cold like, C-O-L-D. It's amazing how Cameron can make us feel what we felt. This is the purpose of me loving Cameron right? Cold. (Pssssssst, i didn't even need a bath because i'm not even sweaty or sticky *laughs*)

The next morning, we all decided to go for a morning walk around the area. We went back to the market area, (cos dad and mom didn't go yesterday) and we noticed there was another floor with more flowers, HOW COULD WE MISS THAT?!
The whole family together.

Just daddy and mommy being lovey-dovey surrounded by a bunch of colourful flowers that just decided to be there.

We were in luck as not much people were there to see the flowers. Just us and a couple of families.

After feeding our hungry eyes with enough flowers and morning glories, we proceeded to bee farm. Dad and mom had been purchasing honey from this particular bee farm. They wanted to go down to their garden to have a stroll. I was particularly afraid of bees (My best friend conditioned me that way *laughs*) and i was shrieking every now and then, but me being me, i still managed to get a few photos without being stung by one. Though my brother ensures me that those bees won't sting you. Who knows?!

See those boxes behind of me? Yep, there's where all the bees linger and have their honeys collected. The place my family is standing (behind me) is like the bee highway, bees fly from all direction to and fro from their "hives". You can constantly hear buzzing in your ears. But yeah, no bee is too "free" to entertain your stay. As busy as a bee, right?

HIBISCUS. AS BIG AS MY HEAD APPARENTLY.

Me and my bruh.
Do you know how difficult it is to make him smile normally for a picture?
This is his best yet.
Our next destination is the strawberry farm! Because why do you go to Cameron if you do not visit the strawberry farm right? duh. But yeah, strawberries sold here are much cheaper compared to strawberries sold at the market near our hotel. Right, because they have never ending supplies of strawberries! DUH.

We tried two packets ourselves.

And some really odd ones. I call this 'the twin'.

Strawberry ice stick. I personally thinks that this tasted more like strawberry jam than real strawberries. Too sweet for my liking, but nevertheless, it was good. What more can i expect right?

Some siblings time in the car.
We never misses a chance to visit the local church. Catholic church in Cameron. It's a peaceful and beautiful church. Open for us to go in and pray...... and to take pictures.

Michael the Archangel.

At the grotto.

And lastly, TEA FARM. There were couple of tourists bus here and lots of lots of tourist. Truth is, everyone likes the tea farm, something you can't deny. Because it's beautifully designed and created. And super awesome place to take real good selfies and portraits. Don't say it isn't because that's a lie *smirk*.

I'll end my post today with a really cool panorama shot of the overview of the tea farm. This place is fantastic!

I came here 2-3 years back. It does bring back certain memories. And if you ask me, "Would you go again? to Cameron?" I'll answer you,

"yes, why not?"

Stay tune for my Ipoh trip post.
